QUETTA: Inspector-General Frontier Corps Balochistan Major-General Saleem Nawaz has said that Talibans are present in Balochistan but any planning and activity from there is not possible for them as they are doing in FATA.
Talking with Geo News in Quetta, he said that people in the province are also not with Talibans particularly in Pashtun Belt where they can do such activities the people are against Talibans nor political parties support them.
The IG Balochistan said that the Pashtuns of this province do not want that the process of development be affected due to presence of Talibans.
He said that 144 personnel of the FC were killed and more than 200 injured during the last 2-3 years while 23 personnel were targeted in various areas in the province during the current year.
He further said that all possible measures are made for maintaining law and order in the province. However, anti-state elements are also active in the province while anti-Pakistan elements are spreading tension here.
The IG said that all the law-enforcing agencies of the country are working for safety and security of the people and the country.
