David Nalbandian to miss French Open
Former world No. 3 David Nalbandian has been ruled out of the French Open after suffering a setback on his return from injury.
The Argentine had a hernia operation in March after a promising start to the season, but was struck down by a fever that disrupted his training and saw him lose 6kg.
The world No. 24, a two-time French Open semi-finalist, has not played at Roland Garros since 2008.
His spokesman Bernardo Ballero said the 29-year-old was "not right physically" as Nalbandian became the second Argentine to suffer an injury setback, after Juan Martin del Potro revealed he is a major doubt for the event having torn a muscle in his hip.
Nalbandian has now set his sights on returning in time for the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club on June 6 in a bid to prepare for Wimbledon which starts on June 20.
