Afridi pleads guilty to showcause charges
Shahid Afridi has pleaded guilty to the charges in the showcause notice sent to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board and expressed willingness to face disciplinary action if required.
Afridi and the PCB have been involved in a tussle ever since he returned from the Caribbean and criticised the team management. The board responded by removing him from the ODI captaincy after which Afridi announced his retirement and criticised the board further. The PCB then suspended Afridi's contract, issued a showcause notice to him, and revoked all his No-Objection Certificates, preventing him from playing the Friends Life t20 for Hampshire.
