West Brom secure Foster signing
West Brom have signed Birmingham goalkeeper Ben Foster on a season-long loan, with Boaz Myhill heading in the opposite direction, also on a short-term deal until next May.
Foster's arrival ends Roy Hodgson's search for a replacement for Scott Carson, who joined Turkish club Bursaspor earlier this summer. West Ham's Robert Green has been the subject of interest from the Baggies, but Foster always appeared Hodgson's first-choice.
There is a clause in both deals that prevents the players returning to their parent clubs at any point in the season.
Hodgson said: "We are very, very happy that the deal to bring Ben from Birmingham has gone through. He was always the goalkeeper that we targeted as our number one choice for the season.
"We are hoping he will be as successful here as he has been with his previous clubs. We are confident Ben is the goalkeeper we need to help us enjoy a successful season."
Foster, who has retired from international football, played all of Birmingham's 38 Premier League games last season, but was unable to prevent the club sliding into the Championship.
