Confusion over Jefferies' Hearts exit
Hearts players left Tynecastle on Monday in an apparent state of confusion amid mounting speculation that manager Jim Jefferies and assistant Billy Brown have left the Gorgie club.
It has been reported but not confirmed that Jefferies has departed after refusing the role of director of football while Brown has been stood down with immediate effect.
It is also believed that Gary Locke, the club's first team coach, has been asked to take over in an interim basis with rumours of a new management team on their way to Edinburgh.
Leaving the ground following a players' meeting, Ryan Stevenson told Sky Sports News reporters: ''We don't know anything about it,'' he said. ''We have to wait until tomorrow.
''I don't want to say anything. I think it's all getting made...I think it will come out tomorrow.''
Asked how much a blow it would be if Jefferies and Brown left, he replied: ''It would obviously be a blow but we will need to just wait and see what happens tomorrow.''
Then, when asked about how difficult the situation was, he said: ''We will just get on with it, that's what we are here for.''
