Villa sweat on Given injury
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has admitted keeper Shay Given is carrying a groin complaint that is threatening his participation against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Given marked his Villa debut with a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with Fulham. During the clash at Craven Cottage, the Irish keeper did not take goal-kicks - with James Collins taking on that duty.
The keeper's failure to take goal-kicks raised eyebrows and McLeish has confirmed his summer signing from Aston Villa is an injury concern.
"Shay had a bit of a tight groin, that's why James took the goal-kicks," McLeish said. "But we're hoping he's okay.
"I need to wait and speak to the doctor but within 24 hours is normally the time to tell."
