Djokovic confident of 2011 repeat
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic believes it is within his grasp to emulate the glories of his 2011 season, as he prepares to begin the defence of his Australian Open crown next week.
Djokovic won three of the four grand slams in 2011 - only missing out on the French Open - and began the year by winning 41 consecutive matches, tasting defeat for the first time during June.
He toiled towards the end of the season as fatigue took its grip, but feels he can banish those sore memories and re-establish his position of dominance at the summit of the men's game.
"Obviously 2011 was the best year of my career and it's going to be very difficult to repeat what I have done, but I've done it once, why not again? Why not stay positive and optimistic about the whole season? I feel that I'm at the peak of my career," Djokovic said.
"I feel that physically, mentally, game-wise I'm right up there. I can perform equally well on any surface, as I proved in 2011. That's my focus."
