England Test team announced for tour of India
LONDON: The England selectors Monday named a 15-man squad under the captaincy of Kevin Pietersen for the two-Test series in India this December. Former captain Michael Vaughan could not become a part of Englandís Test squad.
Nottinghamshire off-spinner Graeme Swann is the only uncapped player in the Test squad which also includes the recalled Sus+++ wicketkeeper-batsman, Matt Prior, and the Middle+++ batsman Owais Shah.
Vaughan, the 34-year-old Yorkshire player, who resigned during his sideís recent series defeat against South Africa, will take a three-month break from international cricket in an attempt to rediscover his form in time for next yearís Ashes series.
Vaughan is expected to play for South Australia for six weeks in the coming months in a bid to regain his lost form.
Englandís 15-man Test Squad includes Kevin Pietersen (captain), Tim Ambrose, James Anderson, Ian Bell, Stuart Broad, Paul Collingwood, Alastair Cook, Andrew Flintoff, Stephen Harmison, Monty Panesar, Matt Prior, Owais Shah, Ryan Sidebottom, Andrew Strauss and Graeme Swann.
