Crocked Frimpong ruled out for remainder of season
Emmanuel Frimpong has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Wolverhampton Wanderers' match at QPR.
Frimpong, on loan at Wolves from Arsenal, suffered a similar injury to his left knee in 2010, which kept him out for the season. No date has yet been put down for his return.
The midfielder was withdrawn 23 minutes into the victory at Loftus Road. He made five appearances for Wolves, making one assist.
Wolves said on their official website: "Emmanuel Frimpong is returning back to Arsenal after it was confirmed he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Saturday's Premier League game at QPR.
"Frimpong, who had been due to stay on loan at Molineux until the end of the season, will now see specialists in London over the next few days before having surgery and starting a programme of rehabilitation.
"The midfielder, who suffered the same injury to his left knee in 2010, had made an impressive start to his temporary spell at Wolves, catching the eye during his five appearances in gold and black.
"Frimpong is expected to be out for a number of months and will therefore miss the remainder of this season. Everyone at Wolves would like to thank the midfielder for his efforts whilst at the club and join Arsenal in wishing him a swift recovery."
