LAHORE: With high hopes and great expectations, the Pakistan Cricket team embarked on a trip to Toronto to partake in the four-nation Twenty20 tournament with skipper Shoaib Malik hoping to return with the trophy.
Shoaib was confident that the national team would utilize the experience of playing the national Twenty20 tournament and defeat their opponents Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and hosts Canada in the four-day event.
Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was part of the national side for the first time in 10 months.
All-rounder Shahid Afridi is in the team despite poor recent batting form, while another all-rounder, Fawad Alam, also staged a comeback after being left out of the Champions Trophy squad.
The 23-year-old paceman Anwar Ali and opener Shoaib Khan, also 23, have not played for Pakistan at senior level.
