Felipe Massa said that his 17th place in the FP2 classification was a result of Timo Glock going off at turn one.

14172 - Massa blames Glock for time

Glock went straight on in to the barrier at turn one, with his nose cone coming off as he bounced through the gravel trap. The Marussia had to be recovered under yellow flags, and Massa - who was on soft tyres at the time - said that he was forced to pit. That meant he didn't get the best out of the option tyre and was unable to improve, leaving him a second slower than his team-mate Fernando Alonso.

"When I was on my first run on the Soft tyres, Glock went off the track at Turn 1 and I was forced to pit again," Massa said. "This meant I was unable to get the most out of this set of tyres and significantly improve my time. I am sure that it would have been much faster than the one posted on the classification: that bothers me a bit because I did not manage to use the soft tyres in the way I should have done."

Aside from his lack of a representative time, Massa said it still hadn't been a good day but seemed to have made progress with the car's set-up on high fuel.

"You definitely couldn't define today as being fantastic. This morning the track was a bit wet and that meant we weren't able to run as much as we would have liked, while in the afternoon, the track dried and we managed to get through our usual Friday programme ... At the end of the session, we ran with a lot of fuel on board to improve the balance of the car."
