Djokovic dumped out in Halloween shocker
Sam Querrey recovered from being blown away in the opening set to cause a Halloween shock by dumping Novak Djokovic out of the BNP Paribas Masters at the second-round stage.
Djokovic, who is guaranteed the end the season as world No. 1 following Roger Federer's decision not to play this week, was beaten 0-6 7-6(5) 6-4.
Djokovic arrived on court wearing a Darth Vader mask, and that sent Querrey spiralling towards tennis' dark side as he surrendered the first set to love, winning just ten points in the process.
Querrey did not get on the board until the ninth game of the match, but he gathered momentum from that success, finding more rhythm in his service game and took the second frame on a tiebreak. One more break in the third handed him his first victory over Djokovic in their fifth meeting, completing a comeback that looked impossible at the start of the second stanza.
