Pakistan likely to drop three players
MELBOURNE: Pakistan selectors are likely to drop three players, including Umar Bhutta, from the team that will participate in the first Asian Champions Trophy starting in Doha, Qatar, from December 20, sources told ‘The News’.
Besides Umar, those likely to be dropped are Ali Shan and Mohammad Ateeq.
Mohammad Irfan, whose ban ended on December 5, is likely to be included along with two other players.
“We are to announce the final team for the Doha Trophy on December 14,” said Akhtar Rasool, chief coach who also has the selection powers.
