HYDERABAD: The first stage of the tour de Pakistan Cycle Race has been completed when the cyclists reached Hyderabad on Sunday. However, the organizers faced difficulties in finalizing the results of the first stage.
Acting governor Sindh Shahla Raza opened the race at the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi.
Cyclists covered a distance of 153 km from Karachi to Hyderabad but the organizers of the Pakistan Cycling Federation went ahead with the cyclists in Hyderabad while the judges were left behind due to which the results delayed by two hours.
However, the federation announced the results after obtaining the footage from media men.
As per the results, Abdul Ahad of WAPDA won the first position by covering the distance in four hours, six minutes and eight seconds.
Naimatullah of Sui Gas secured the second and Zahid Gulfam of WAPDA came third.
Cyclists in the second stage will cover the distance from Hyderabad to Moro on Monday.
