14th phase of Tour de Pakistan goes to Sri Lanka
MULTAN: Jantha Amanta of Sri Lanka won the 14th phase of the Tour de Pakistan Cycle Race while Sher Ali of Pakistan came second here on Sunday.
For the seventh stage of the race covering a distance of 160 km from Multan to Sahiwal, 43 cyclists began the journey.
However, 16 participants slipped on the way due to oil spread on the road at Sahiwal crossing bridge just before the destination and they after getting the immediate first aid went again on the race.
Sri Lankaís Jantha Amanta covered the scheduled distance in four hours, seven minutes and 30 seconds and obtained the first position.
Pakistanís Sher Ali from WAPDA came second with a mere difference of ten seconds while Naimat Ali from Sui Southern got third position.
The cyclists in the next phase of the race will reach Lahore from Sahiwal.
