Najam Sethi refutes allegations
Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi denied allegations that he has ‘apologised’ to England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief Giles Clark for falsely attributing remarks to him.
Sethi told The Express Tribune that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has simply rebutted his remarks without explaining which parts of his TV talk show stood ‘rebutted’.
He added that the ICC had not used the word ‘lies’ in any context whatsoever against him, and that this could be verified from a record of the meeting that existed with the body. Besides, he claimed that he had not apologised to anyone for ‘falsely attributing remarks’.
Sethi also rejected the February 1 story published in The Express Tribune and Daily Express which suggested that Colin Gibson, the ECB communications director, did not deny that he had apologised to Giles Clarke in a private email.
According to Sethi, that is “very different from alleging that I formally apologised to him for falsely attributing remarks to him”.
