    Arosha Hya

The skin cracks like a pod.
    There never is enough water.
    Imagine the drip of it,
    the small splash, echo
    in a tin mug,
the voice of a kindly god.
    Sometimes, the sudden rush
of fortune. The municipal pipe bursts,
    silver crashes to the ground
    and the flow has found
a roar of tongues. From the huts,
a congregation : every man woman
    child for streets around
    butts in, with pots,
    brass, copper, aluminium,
    plastic buckets,
    frantic hands,
    and naked children
    screaming in the liquid sun,
    their highlights polished to perfection,
    flashing light,
    as the blessing sings
    over their small bones.

    The beautiful, fresh, scented flowers!

    And heavy, dense, rain showers!

    The strong, powerful blowing gale!

And the swimming stunts of a whale!

Our brain figuring out the very best!

And our toes, ankles, heart and chest!

Are all the great blessings of Allah!

    The functioning butterfly wings!

    And all the functioning things!

    The bursting, gleaming, hot sun!

    Giving intense heat and light!

That can even bake a bun!

    The mattress on the bed

    The brain in our head!

    The sun shining and glowing!

And in streams the water flowing!

Are all the blessings of Allah!

Many many many are yet to be explained!

But the page is ending this is my complaint!

    But do always thank Allah,

For he has given us so much

    We can't even remember!

    Jamshed

A blessed month is casting its shadow upon us
A night of this month is better than a thousand months
Bear with patience for the sake of Ar-Rahman
It's a continuous training to strengthen our Imaan.

Glory be to Allah who sent Ramadan as a mercy to mankind
Its a purification of our soul, our heart, and our mind
With the most sincere devotion and love we fast
To be cleansed and free from sins of the past

Glorified is He, who choseth this holy month,
To test our sabr and fill our hearts with warmth
    Of his Divine Light, His
    blessings shall glow,
The Seer of the unseen, all He does know

Ya Allah! For thee, let my breath be more pleasant than musk
Ya Allah! For thee, let me be thankful when day turns to dusk
My thoughts and heart are purified, my eyes truly see'
This blessed month, the month of spiritual rhapsody!

Ya Allah! For thee, my life I shall live!
Ya Allah! For thee, my soul I shall give!
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind,
Praise be to Allah, who sent Ramadan as a gift to mankind

    Oh Ramadan!

    the month of blessing,
the month that all Muslims are anxiously awaiting to fast,
the month that elevates the faith of Muslims,
the month that brings good and bad Muslims together,
the month in which Qur’an is recited more than all the other months combined,
    Oh the loving Ramadan,
here you are with us again,
the month of piety in which all doubtful hobbies are avoided,
    Oh Ramadan,
    Marhaban Ahlan wasahlan!
the only month that has a Night of Power,
the only month in which Angels descend in troops,
the month in which the poor and the rich get their past sins forgiven,
    Oh Ramadan,
the lessons you taught us will not be forgotten,
    Oh Ramadan,
we look forward to seeing more of you in fettle.
    Marhaban ahlan wasahlan,Oh Ramadan!

    CITY OF MADINA

    --------------------

    Mercy and Blessings from above,
    descend ceaselessly on Medina
People feel the joy, people feel the love,
    in the city of Rasullullah
A perfect path he laid for everyone,
He lived and died for us, what have I done
I have forsaken his life; I have abandoned his way,
Oh Allah now my time has come

Deep in my heart I feel a change has begun
Deep in my soul I feel the warmth of the sun
Burning bright with Imaan on the road to Ihsaan
All my obstacles I will overcome

    Peace be upon Rasullullah
    Peace be upon Habibillah
    Peace be upon Muhammad
    Peace be upon ShafiAllah
    Peace be upon Khairakhilqillah
    Peace be upon Muhammad
    Last of the Ambiyaa
    Without his sunnah, we're disgraced,
People rushing in order to embrace
The Rahmah that Allah sends down to this place
    To the city of Medina

Every language and colour you can see
    There is unrivalled hospitality
And dates that's as sweet as the smile of a child
    Oh I feel so unworthy

Oh how my mind races back in time
To the day in Medina he arrived
And all the people came running happily outside
    To welcome the Messenger

For his call was to worship the One
Their hearts united with the beating of the drum
And the children were singing praises to him
I wish I could?e been there with them

Standing before him I realize that I have strayed
Oh Allah, give me the strength to mend my ways
