When his wife Palwasha dies unexpectedly, Wahid, a poor train station master of a small, remote town in Pakistan, must come to terms not only with her death and his own childhood personal demons, but also his complicity in the events that led up to it. He must choose between facilitating a web of corruption involving his own elder brother that might provide him a more comfortable life but which threatens to destroy his beloved railways and morals on the one hand, and saving his estranged son caught in a similar conflict for a better life in the big city on the other. Set against the backdrop of the deliberately engineered decline of the railways system in Pakistan, 'Moor' is a story about the meaning of loyalty - to one's land, one's family and one's principles.Mumtaz while talking exclusively to Daily Times said that It was a matter of great joy to see the Pakistani audience respond so positive towards a film based on highlighting and setting the wrong things in the right direction by an individual. She also said that the film industry had truly matured.
"'Moor' is a story of every individual whose life puts him/her through many tests and problems but he never gives up even in
the time of sheer disappointment and when no ray of hope is there," she added.
On the occasion, Sheikh said that our choices define our path and destiny. This film was a platform where we will take the Pakistan's film industry to make films on such social topics, which can bring positive change among the people.
"The plot of the movie speaks of corruption in a manner to provoke the masses to take individual actions to combat the social evils present in our society," Jami said, also while talking to Daily Times.
