Sabir retains champions of hills cycling event
LAHORE: Muhammad Sabir of Sui Southern Gas Company retained the title of Champions of Hills Rawalpindi to Murree cycle race.
Sabir covered the 67 kilometre distance in two hours and 24 minutes and 55 seconds in a competition of fifth riders belonging to affiliated departments of Pakistanís cycling federation.
To pay respect and tributes to former Prime Minister, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto the event was named after her.
The riders were flagged off from Army Stadium Rawapindi on December 25 and they finished at Murree where MPA Raja Attique Sarwar received them at a closing ceremony.
Sabir was followed by his department fellow Niamat Ali as Ismail Saeed from Army took the third place.
Cash prizes worth Rs. 50,000 were distributed among the top position holders.
