Davis Cup tie may be held in Oman
ISLAMABAD: International Tennis Federation has tentatively decided to hold the Pakistan-Oman Davis Cup tie in the latter country.
Under the ITF rules, the tie was scheduled to be played here because Pakistan had last visited Oman. However the venue for the March 2009 tie was changed on the request of Oman.
Asian Tennis Federation’s President, Anil Khanna, had written a letter of recommendation to ITF for keeping the tie in Pakistan but ITF has not responded in affirmation to the ATF official, it was learnt here.
“The Pakistan Tennis Federation President senator Syed Dilawar Abbas will release the details of the ITF reply on Thursday”, the PTF Secretary, Maj. (retd) M. Rashid, said on Wednesday.
