Pietersen says ECB ditched him
LONDON: It seems that every new day comes with a new story about the resignation of former English Captain Kevin Pietersen from captaincy.
Pietersen writing in a news column revealed that the way ECB pushed him out of the captaincy has hurt him deep down heart. Pietersen said that he was duped to resign, as initially he was assured that his resignation would be used only for pressuring the Board, while the Board members were seeking his opinion on the different candidates for new coach, but ECB Managing Director, Hugh Morris suddenly one day told him on phone that his resignation has been approved and just after few minutes Board’s e-mail in this regard was also received and only then he realized what game the Board played with him. Besides, it was also reported that Pietersen had wished to resign during the India tour, but the decision was put off on the insistence of the Board.
