LAHORE: Twelve players have been selected here on Saturday for the Pakistan judo team to participate in the first Asian Martial Arts Games.

Forty-eight players participated in trials held here at Gari Shahu Railway Stadium.

After the trials, Mohammad Zafar of Pakistan Army obtained the first position in 60 kg category while Karamat Butt of WAPDA came first in 73 kg.

Mohammad Mairaj and Naveed Ahmed, both from Pakistan Army secured the first position in 81 kg and 100 kg, respectively.

The first Asian Martial Arts Games will be held in Bangkok, capital of Thailand, from April 25 to May 3.
