Prepared to meet Pakistan: Jayawardene

KARACHI: Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene said Monday they were not considering to concentrate on Pakistan’s rusty factor having not played much of international in the past few months.

“On our part, we are not considering whether Pakistan is rusty or not.

We are prepared. It’s important match. We are focused on the game. It is an important match of three match series and we want to give hundred percent performance,” he told reporters at National Stadium.

Commenting on spin wizard and world test record holder Muttiah Muralitharan completing his 500 ODIs wickets during the series, he said they haven’t made any celebration plans as yet.

“I can be quite happy to do that, but there have been any expectation that he would be recorded in any time frame. Everything have come alone and we don’t want to put added pressure on him to get it here.

“He has been tremendous for us and winning matches with not any special way. Records are achieved as the team. We want to concentrate on Tuesday game.

Sri Lanka’s Aussies coach Trevor Bayliss said Pakistan is always been better teams in the world and we look forward very much playing against them here. “We know Pakistanis are tough to beat and looking to beat them by playing some good cricket against them”.
