Zimbabwe recover from dire start vs. Bangladesh

DHAKA: Zimbabwe recovered from a dire 47-6 to post 160-9 in its second limited-overs international against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Bangladesh paceman Nazmul Hossain took three wickets to lead the rout of Zimbabwe''s top order, threatening to dismiss the visitors for an embarrassingly low total.

Nazmul Hossain dismissed Visu Sibanda (7), Hamilton Masakadza (17) and Elton Chigumbura (1) as Bangladesh''s bowlers justified the decision of captain Mohammad Ashraful to bowl first after winning the toss.

After a decent opening stand of 26, Zimbabwe lost six wickets for only 21 runs.

Sean Williams (59) and captain Prosper Utseya (38) pulled Zimbabwe toward a respectable total with a 96-run stand for the seventh wicket. Williams hit three boundaries and one six off 89 balls for his eighth one-day fifty before being run out.

Zimbabwe leads the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first match on Monday by two wickets.
