iBowl is an iphone application developed for people who love bowling. iBowl is actually an iphone game for bowling but with a difference as is the case with most of the iphone applications. Coupled with the accelerometer of iphone, the game playing experience is great but the overall difficulty of the game is quite low and there is every possibility that you will get bored of the game very soon unless you like repeating the same thing over and over again.
One of the biggest problems with iBowl is that it is too easy; you just cannot do anything new with game. You cannot change the angle of the throw by tilting the iphone nor can you change the spin on the bowl. Most of the throws done will go straight. To accompany the bads, there are goods too; the sound effects are great which lend realistic effect to the game.
Well according to me the idea of the game is superb but the implementation is a bit sluggish which shows on the functionality of the game. Although the instructions to play the game are very well explained but I don’t see any need for it since the game is quite easy and does not need any tutorial.
Another disappointment with iBowl is that the lack of multiplayer action which means that when you click on the ‘challenge a friend’ menu, it simply sends the scores to the other friends rather than actually playing with your friend. So the whole purpose of internet multi player game is defeated. From the user point of view, I will be more than happy to see some changes in the game which would bring better game play.
