Gaming has become an integral part of all the latest mobile phone and specially the UIQ3 series. Platypus is an old style mobile phone game in which you have to destroy the enemies with your weaponry system. Just keep collecting the power ups and the add-ons to get more powerful and a more accurate weapon system, thus making it easy and faster to destroy the stream of enemies.
Whats really good about the game is the responsivity that your aircraft has for offer. It responds really quickly to all the key pad movements. It doesn’t really matter if the screen of the game is entirely stuffed up with enemies or you encounter a lot of graphics, the responsivity is still the same and there is no lag at all.
But the online gamers have their different opinion. However they liked the solo version of the game, but they also want to see the multiplayer version of Platypus. To expect a lag free environment when the other players are also playing on the same screen, will be asking too much from the Symbian platform. However the required performance for multi player version of Platypus can be easily achieved on PSP.
I personally feel that there is nothing special in the game, it’s just the genre to which the game belongs and the other games in the same category which makes it special. The entire background and the enemy ships, the landscaping etc has a feel of artistic clay modeling to it. Nevertheless, the graphics of the game are also very nice and far better than most of the other games from the same genre.
