mBox is a free iphone appliactoin which is aimed at the business people who are frequently out of their offices but need a permanent access to their fax machines and the voice mails. The application however targets a specifc section of the society but the features it has to offer make it a reasonably good application to have in your phone. The fax and the voicemail functionality is backed by mBox’s online messaging service.
What actually do you look in for the application? According to me it should be the fact that how useful the application is for you rather than the number of features it has to offer. It doesn’t really matter if it performs only a single task but that should be really helpful in your day to day life, just like mbox. Only a business man or someone who can realize the usefulness of this application can know how much mbox can bring ease to their lives.
Here comes the part where you have to decide whether you really need this application or not as you are going to pay a big deal for the full version of the application. When you sign up for mBox you are given a unique telephone number and the incoming fax and the messages on that number are converted to email and are delivered in the inbox of your iphone.
You can also send fax faxes, emails, voicemail and text messages from your iphone but for that purpose you are going to need a computer that is directly connected to internet. Both the incoming and outgoing services are not free while the incoming services come at a fixed flat price the outgoing service is more of pay as you go. as I already said, you have to decide if you really want to pay$9 per month for the incoming service but if you are really in need of something like this and it’s a must buy.
