Default ICC clears Bangladesh bowler Razzak

DHAKA: Bangladesh's left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has been cleared to resume bowling in international cricket, the national board said here Thursday, ending his ban over a suspect arm action.

Abdul Razzak was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in November
after the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand at home.

"He appeared for a reassessment of his action at the Australian Institute of Sports in Canberra on February 23 and has been subsequently cleared," the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said in a statement.

"The ICC has informed the BCB that Razzak's bowling technique has changed to the extent that both his stock delivery and faster ball are now within the ICC tolerance level of 15 degrees and his action is now legal."

Abdul azzak, 26, was also reported for a suspect action in 2004 but was cleared after corrective measures.

He has taken 111 wickets in 81 one-day internationals and seven in five Tests.
