National junior hockey team arrive home

LAHORE: National squad of junior hockey team Sunday arrived back in Pakistan after playing in Junior World Cup Hockey Tournament.

The national squad arrived along with Pakistan Hockey Federation President Qasim Zia and Coach Khawja Junaid at Lahore Airport.

Pakistan clinched fifth position after beating defending champion Argentina 4-1 in the position match of Junior Men''s Hockey World Cup in Singapore on Friday.

PHF President expressed satisfaction on the overall performance of the team, saying the still better performance could be expected from the team in future.

Khawja Junaid was also very glad with the performance of the players. He said national junior hockey team top the Asian teams owing to good performance.

Responding a question, he said the team would have to play more matches with the European teams to better its ground action.
