Future of international hockey related with Pakistan, India: Negre
KARACHI: President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Leandro Negre said that the future of international hockey is related with Pakistan and India so they cannot be ignored.
He expressed hope that activities of international hockey would soon be revived in Pakistan.
Addressing at a press conference here at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday, Leandro Negre said that the objective of his visit to Pakistan is to give a message to the world that all teams should come and play hockey in Pakistan. He would talk with other countries in this regard.
He said that the suggestion of offering the wild card entry to Pakistan and India in the Champions Hockey Trophy was under consideration but it could not be implemented due to lack of time.
He expressed hope that Pakistan would win the World Cup Qualifying Round.
Negre said that he would ask the other FIH-affiliated countries to invite Pakistan team for playing hockey there.
