Can I add or remove buttons from the toolbars?
Yes! To add a button to a toolbar:
    1. Choose Toolbars from the View menu.
    2. Select Customize.
    3. Click on the Commands tab.
    4. Select an item under Categories.
    5. Select an item from the list of Commands.
    6. Drag the command to a toolbar. An "I" beam will appear to help you install the button. By default, the new button has only a text label.
    7. Right-click on the new Toolbar item.
    8. Select Default Style (the button will become a plain square).
    9. Right click on the new Toolbar item again.
    10. Choose Change Button Image, then select a button image.
    11. Close the Customize dialog box.
    To remove a button:
    1. Choose Toolbars from the View menu.
    2. Select Customize.
    3. Drag the button you want to remove off of the toolbar.

    Custom Envelopes in Word

Actually, the Envelopes and Labels dialog does allow you to customize an envelopeit's just not obvious how to do so. As usual, choose Tools | Letters and Mailings | Envelopes and Labels. Enter the recipient's address and, if it's not already present, the return address. Select any other formatting options that you wish. Then, instead of clicking on Print, click on the Add to Document button. This will insert your envelope in a separate section before the start of your current document. Select View | Print Layout from the menu to see just how the envelope will look.
Click within the envelope and choose Insert | Picture | WordArt from the menu. Select a WordArt style and click on OK. Enter Attention, select a typeface and font size, and then click on OK. Right-click on the newly inserted item and choose Format WordArt from the menu. Make any changes you like to the fill color and line color. Click on the Layout tab, choose the In front of text option, and click on OKthis allows you to move the WordArt wherever you want on the envelope. You can now move it, stretch it, and even rotate it.
To print the custom envelope, insert an envelope in your printer in the usual fashion. If you don't remember the correct orientation, choose Tools | Letters and Mailings | Envelopes and Labels, check the orientation pictured in the box titled Feed, and click on Cancel. Now choose Print from the File menu and click on Pages in the Page range panelenter 0 for the page number. When you click on OK, Word will print your custom envelope.

    Changing a Toolbar Button Image

1-Right-click your mouse on any toolbar visible in Word. Word displays a Context menu.
2-Choose Customize from the Context menu. Word displays the Customize dialog box with the Toolbars tab selected. (Click here to see a related figure.)
3-Right-click on the toolbar button you want to modify. Word displays a Context menu.
4-Choose Change Button Image from the Context menu. Word displays a list of available graphic images you can use.
5-Click on the graphic image you want to use. The image appears on the toolbar button.
6-If you want to get rid of the text that appears on the toolbar button, continue with the next step, otherwise, skip to step 9.
7-Right-click on the toolbar button you want to modify. Word displays a Context menu.
8-Choose Default Style from the Context menu. The toolbar button changes to only an image.
9-Click on Close to get rid of the Customize dialog box.1

Quickly zoom in and out of a Microsoft Word document by holding down the CTRL button and scrolling the wheel on your mouse.

Scrap - Easily leave a note on your desktop by dragging text from your open document
Shrink the active Word window so you can see the Desktop (click the RESTORE icon on the upper right corner of the window),
    Highlight the desired text, then with a right mouse click, drag your selection over to the Desktop;
Release the right mouse button, then select "Create scrap here".
Now you have a little scrap of your work on your desktop. This is a new file, saved in the Windows\Desktop folder.
To remove it from the Desktop, select the scrap and hit DELETE (or use the right-click mouse menu).
