No compromise on discipline: Butt

SARGODHA: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt said Sunday that players used to play for themselves, not for the country in the past; but this would not happen now.

Speaking to reporters at a Twenty20 match between Pakistan A and Under-19 here, he said that the cricket board was working for the betterment of cricket in Pakistan.

“Our focus is more on grass root level in order to inject new talent in the team,” he said.

To a question, the PCB chief said no compromise would be made on discipline.

“What we want is that players play for the country,” he added.
