Precious land of NSK in danger: Ijaz Butt
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt said that he is under tremendous pressure to sell five acres of land of the National Stadium Karachi to a party.
Ijaz Butt said before the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly that the colonies of the Army and the Judges are situated on 18 acres of land belonging to the National Stadium while he is being pressurised for selling five acres of land to a party.
He revealed that the said piece of land values at Rs2.5 billion.
The PCB chairman said that matters for constructing a stadium in Islamabad had been finalized with the CDA but land mafia is creating hurdles in the way.
He told that the former board management purchased a bio-mechanic machine at a cost of Rs40 million but no technical staff is available to utilize it.
Ijaz Butt said that PCB’s former chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi, Mudassar Zia and Ali Zia went to Australia for purchasing this machine but they knew nothing about this.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on this occasion that he would talk to the prime minister for the construction of the stadium in Islamabad.
