NOTTINGHAM: Former Pakistan captain Mushtaq Mohammad on Sunday blamed the faulty technique of Pakistanís batsmen as the reason for massive 354-run defeat.
Mushtaq, who now resides in England, said: ďI think it is no less than an embarrassment for us and the reason is simple. No player has the right technique to play on the seaming and moving English tracks. In fact most of the batsmen have no clue as how to play on such surfaces.Ē
Mushtaq, the younger brother of the legendary Hanif Mohammad, added: ďI think Shoaib Malik is the best of lot and even he does not know exactly how to play a moving ball.
ďKamran Akmal and Umar Akmal can play on dead wickets but not on the ones where the ball moves and swings. If bowler is as good as James Anderson, he can bowl out the two, 10 times in a single day. The two are raw and have no clue how to get behind or leave the ball on such tracks.
ďI do not think anyone has worked on their technique before sending them here.Ē
Mushtaq called upon the Pakistan Cricket Board to pay heed to the plight of Pakistan cricket and start making necessary changes.
ďYou mostly find the dead tracks in Pakistan. Absolutely no grass, no swing. When these batsmen turn over in England they find it hard to cope with the conditions. Time has come to prepare bowler-friendly tracks on Pakistan domestic scene.Ē
Mushtaq also lashed out at the Pakistan coaches accompanying the team, saying that it is their duty to train them well for every match.
