Pakistan colts thrash Ghana 6-3 in YOG

KARACHI: Pakistans junior hockey team defeated Ghana 6-3 in the opening match of the hockey event of the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore on Tuesday.

According to information made available here, Muhammad Arsalan Qadir played a pivotal role in Pakistans triumph, knocking a hat-trick.

The game was stopped for almost 30 minutes due to thunderstorms after the second-half. At the end of the first-half Pakistan led 3-2.

Muhammad Arslan Qadir scored his goals in the 21st, 50th and 63rd minute, while Muhammad Zubair, Syed Kashif Shah and Muhammad Suleman scored a goal each in 6th, 14th and 60th minute respectively.

Mathew Damalie, Ifred Ntiamoah and Samuel Afari scored a goal apiece for the Africans in the 19th, 35th and 59th minute respectively. Pakistan play their second match against Chile on Wednesday (today).
