Federer into final as he continues fine 2011
Second seed Roger Federer is through to his first final of the year after beating France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 7-6(2) at the Qatar Open in Doha.
The Swiss maestro, who holds a special affection for the tournament having won it in 2005 and 2006, looked untroubled as he safely negotiated the first set thanks to a single break of serve.
Tsonga rallied in the second, but the set went to a tiebreak as neither player managed to make a breakthrough. Federer appears to thrive in pressure situations and he found another level to complete a dominant win.
