Raqeeb backs out from his statement before committee: PCB

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has clarified that manager Pakistan cricket team has backed out from his statement which he gave before the inquiry committee investigating the teamís defeat on the tour of Australia.

According to the PCB spokesman, former team manager Abdul Raqeeb had submitted the statement that the players violating discipline should be heavily fined.

The spokesman said that the written evidence of Abdul Raqeebís statement given before the committee is available with the board.

As per the PCB, Abdul Raqeeb had written in his report that differences began on the day when Younis Khan in Abu Dhabi decided to drop Mohammad Yousuf from the second One-day International due to his poor fielding while Yousuf said that he has been fielding in this way for the last seven years.

According to the pCB, Abdul Raqeeb recommended to slap fines on Shoaib Malik, Umar Gul, Mohammad Aamer, Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal.
