Players seek legal counsel after being banned, fined

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a detailed copy to players in connection with bans and fines leveled upon them, following which, players have contacted with their legal advisors and started seeking legal advices to tackle the issue, Geo news reported.

Upon the recommendations of an investigative committee, which looked into the poor performance of national team on Australian tour, PCB banned former Test captains Yunis Khan and Mohammed Yusuf from any format of international cricket while Shoaib Malik, Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan were barred from cricket for one year and were also fined 2 million rupees each.

Kamran Akmal and Shahid Khan Afridi were fined Rs.3 million each while Kamranís younger brother Umer Akmal faced fine for Rs. 2million.

Sources said all players have received copies from PBC detailing penalties and bans on them.

Players were given 30-day period for filing appeal against the punishments which has prompted some players to seek legal advices from their attorneys.
