Proteas set Afghanistan 140-run target

BRIDGETOWN: South Africa made 139 for seven after Afghansitan captain Nowroz Mangal won the toss and put them into bat in the last group match of the World Twenty20 here at the Kensington Oval.

Jacques Kallis was the top-scorer with 34 runs from 27 balls, followed by Graeme Smith (27), JP Duminy (25) and Albie Morkel (23).

For Afghanistan, medium-pacer Hamid Hassan was the most successful bowler, claiming three wickets for 21 runs.

South Africa dropped fast bowler Rory Kleinveldt and brought in experienced Charl Langeveldt in his place while Mirwais Ashraf replaced paceman Dawlat Ahmadzai in Afghanistan''s line-up.
